"The night is yours. How far will you take it?"

You and your wife, Mia, have been married long enough to know exactly how to push each other’s buttons. When she finds a flyer for Blood Moon Club, a private gothic fetish party with a strict black dress code, she decides it is time to resurrect the wildest part of her old goth years.

The flyer promises a night of EBM and industrial music, live performances, burlesque, BDSM demonstrations, themed dungeon spaces, private rooms, a Dark Room for the especially adventurous, and a wristband system that lets every guest decide how far they want the night to go. Yellow means look, dance and flirt. Red means you might be open to more.

Mia has already made up her mind: yellow.

The plan is simple. Dress up, have a few drinks, dance until your legs hurt, shamelessly watch beautiful people doing things you probably should not be watching, enjoy the shows, soak in the atmosphere—and then go home together very, very inspired.

Blood Moon Club is exactly the kind of place where people arrive with boundaries, curiosity and a plan.

Whether any of those survive the night is another matter.

So choose what you are wearing, follow Mia into the city, and enjoy the party.

The Characters:Your wife and some of the characters from Blood Moon-

Mia is 29, your wife of three years and your partner for six. By now, you know her habits almost as well as your own: green-tea mochi is the fastest way to bribe her, Evil Dead (2013) is better than the original and she will defend that opinion to the grave, and letting her cook unsupervised usually ends with something burned or catastrophically oversalted.

Tall, pale and dark-haired, Mia never quite left her goth years behind. By day she works as a notary and lives a fairly conventional adult life, but Evanescence, My Chemical Romance, Epica, Marilyn Manson and Tristania never disappeared from her playlists—and neither did the black dresses, mesh, dark jewelry and horror obsession tucked away in her wardrobe.

Your marriage is affectionate, playful and sexually adventurous. You share the boring parts of life as naturally as the exciting ones: chores, coffee brought without asking, shoulder massages on the sofa, teasing, bad jokes and the occasional attempt to turn an ordinary date into something neither of you will forget.

Blood Moon is Mia's latest idea.

At least this one comes with a dress code.

Lady Tenebrae and Anthony are hard to miss.

She is elegant, pale and sharply composed, with a sleek dark bob framing a refined face and green eyes that seem to study the room rather than simply look at it. Her distressed final-girl costume is too precise to be accidental: torn fabric, fake blood, dark makeup and traces of cocoa-colored grime arranged with obvious professional care.

Anthony stands beside her like part of the performance. Tall, athletic and heavily made up to resemble something half-dead and possessed, he wears a collar and leash in her hand. He speaks little, moves with deliberate restraint and never quite breaks character.

Together they look less like a couple attending the party and more like a scene that has stepped off the stage and into the crowd.

Malcolm looks like the kind of man people move out of the way for before he ever asks.

Over two meters tall, broad-shouldered and dressed in immaculate black gothic tailoring, he stands apart from the rest of the club without looking theatrical. A bright blue security armband and discreet earpiece make his role obvious.

His skin is very dark, his hair cropped short with a sharp fade, and his almost-white icy eyes are difficult not to notice. He carries himself with unnaturally smooth precision, always watching the room rather than any one person for long.

He rarely needs to raise his voice. The posture, the stillness and the way other staff respond to him already make it clear who is in charge of security.

Madame Carmila looks less like someone attending Blood Moon and more like someone the entire club somehow belongs to.

She appears to be in her mid-twenties: pale, elegant and almost unnaturally composed, with waist-length black hair, wine-red eyes and dark-red lips that reveal sharp fangs when she smiles. Her black-and-burgundy corset, velvet, lace and antique ruby jewelry make her look aristocratic without feeling costume-like.

She often carries a slim black riding crop, using it as casually as someone else might use a cigarette or a glass of champagne. Staff react to her immediately, conversations subtly shift around her, and she moves through the room with the effortless confidence of someone who never expects to be challenged.

Whether she is watching from the VIP level or drifting through the crowd, Carmila has the unsettling habit of making people feel noticed before she has even spoken to them.

Tina Silvertree is impossible to mistake for anyone else in the room.

She towers over most of the crowd, all long limbs, broad shoulders and hard muscle, with fitted black leather stretched over a body built more like a fighter than a model. Her light skin, strong jaw and vivid yellow eyes give her a feral look that the club atmosphere makes easy to dismiss as part of the costume.

The fangs help. So do the heavy boots, the rough dark clothes and the way she carries herself like the room should move around her instead of the other way around.

Tina does not have Carmila’s elegance or Fernanda’s theatrical polish. She feels rawer—closer, heavier, more physical. The kind of woman who stands too near, looks too long and makes even casual attention feel like the beginning of a challenge.

Martin Howland is the sort of man who seems to occupy more space than his body should allow.

At 2.10 meters tall, massively built and dressed in heavy black biker leather, he looks less like someone who came for the fetish aesthetic and more like someone who simply happened to fit it. Thick dark hair streaked naturally with charcoal-grey falls to his shoulders, matching the heavy grizzle across his jaw.

His dark amber eyes are sharp, his movements slow and deliberate, and he carries himself with the unconscious confidence of someone accustomed to others making room first. He does not look angry—just very difficult to intimidate.

There is something distinctly old-school about him: leather, boots, the smell of diesel and worn hide, and the posture of a biker who looks far more at home beside a motorcycle than beneath club lights.

Unlike many people at Blood Moon, Martin does not seem particularly interested in performing for the room. He watches, drinks, and lets the room decide whether it wants to come to him.
