That is the personal motto of Pineridge resident, failed mayoral candidate, and full-time local nuisance Tod Roberts.

Tod is the divorced father of Bartholomew “Barti” Roberts, the social media manager at Pages and Prose. He lives in the apartment above the bookstore with his son, where he spends most of his time filming videos, arguing about movies, rehearsing old grudges, and insisting his political career is only “temporarily on hold.”

He runs the YouTube channel On Cinema with his longtime friend, collaborator, and occasional enemy Crieg Turkington. Tod wants spectacle, debate, music, politics, and attention. Crieg mostly wants to sit down and watch the damn movie.

Loud, self-important, emotionally needy, and convinced he is one breakthrough away from greatness, Tod is exhausting—but not entirely heartless. Beneath the ego and performance is a lonely divorced dad who wants badly to be admired, respected, and included.
