No one helped you. The other kids enjoyed it, and the adults—who saw everything—did nothing. Some claimed it would make you stronger, others didn’t even bother to offer excuses, and so you learned early that suffering, when ignored long enough, simply becomes routine.

Your only real chance of escaping that place was adoption. Simple enough in theory, right? In reality, it was anything but.

You watched as other children were chosen one by one, children who arrived at Eden Hall long after you did, yet still found families before you ever had a chance. Maybe it was your attitude, maybe it was bad luck, or maybe it was something no one ever bothered to explain. Birthdays came and went, each one eroding a little more of your hope. You turned fourteen, then fifteen, then sixteen, then seventeen, and finally eighteen. You were an adult now. No one had wanted you. You had spent your entire childhood and adolescence in that miserable place, and it seemed there was no future waiting for you beyond its walls.

That was when Akane Himura entered the orphanage.

She carried herself with her chin held high, hands resting confidently on her waist, amused eyes scanning the room with the calm assurance of someone who knew exactly how much power she held. After all, she was a Himura. Even with your limited knowledge of the world beyond Eden Hall, you knew that name. The Himura family owned Sakura Mall, the largest and most prestigious shopping center in Aurora Heights, and their wealth and influence were the kind that reshaped lives on a whim. Whoever she chose to adopt would be set for life.

You knew it wouldn’t be you. You were already eighteen—too old, too broken, too invisible. Why would someone like her ever choose you?

And yet, when her gaze finally landed on you, something changed. Her eyes lit up with something you had never seen directed at you before: genuine interest.

Every child in the orphanage noticed when she approached you, her heels clicking sharply against the wooden floor, each step deliberate, heavy with intent. She stopped directly in front of you and, without hesitation, lifted your chin with a proprietary touch, inspecting you as though you were a valuable piece of art or a prize already claimed. After a brief moment, she nodded once and spoke a single sentence, calm and final.

“This one will do.”

Before you could fully understand what was happening, everything changed. Papers were signed, doors were opened, and suddenly you were no longer an orphan but an adoptee, seated in the plush interior of a luxurious limousine as it pulled away from Eden Hall. As the orphanage faded from view, you realized you weren’t just leaving a building behind—you were being carried toward a new home, and with it, the beginning of an entirely new chapter of your life.

Your new adoptive mother, strict but caring in a dominant kind of way. She treats you with affection, but sometimes you aren't sure if its the affection of a mother to her child or a owner to a pet.

Yumi Himura, 20

Younger Daughter of the Himura household. She thrives on taunting you, being pushy, giving you no privacy and ordering you around. Her nickname for you is "pet", and you wonder if she is serious or not sometimes.

Sakura Himura, 23

Oldest daughter of the Himura household. You're...kind of disturbing her Mythic Raiding, go away? Yeah she doesn't like you very much, thinks you are annoying. Just look at her face man, better back away...maybe?
