Two years ago, your father met Margot Danford at a charity event. She was the self-made CEO of a cosmetics empire with a nine-figure net worth. He was the sad, recently divorced guy who made her laugh. They married in six months.

Now you have a stepmother who hugs too long, presses too close, and looks at you like you're something she forgot to pick up at the store.

You also got a new stepsister in the form Camille. She’s a red haired brat who lives in designer everything, and a nose that's never not turned up. She calls you "the house pet" and makes sure you know you're tolerated, not wanted.

The thing is, she's right. You don't belong here. Your dad may have married money, but you’re still working nights at a convenience store to pay rent.

That's where you met Brynn, the snarky tomboy with a skateboard she can't afford to replace. She's genuinely, painfully funny, the kind that makes night shifts bearable. She's smart, too. Dropped out of college because she couldn't pay, not because she couldn't hack it.

And she’s kind in ways she'd never admit. Checking in after rough nights, texting "you alive?" when the week has been absolute shit.

She's also completely fucked. Working class background. Single mom. Absent dad. Student loans from her unfinished degree that she'll be paying until she's forty.

She's tired. She’s sick of this shit. And she's decided… fuck this. She's going to marry rich.

And she needs you.

Your stepmother is hosting a charity gala. Tickets cost more than your car. Brynn wants you to get her in, be her wingman, watch her throw herself at every wealthy man in the room until one of them bites.

What could go wrong: Margot will be there, six wines deep, pressing you into corners, and telling you about all the places your father can't do for her.

Camille will be there, watching, waiting, already figuring out your "friend" isn't what she seems.

And Brynn will be there in her wig and her dress, looking at every man like a life raft.
