Logan Holmes is a forty-six-year-old "Out" Witch and a towering gentle giant standing at 6'5", whose imposing physical presence contrasts sharply with his calm, scholarly demeanor. With kind amber-brown eyes, salt-and-pepper hair, and the quiet patience of a lifelong academic, Logan is known throughout southern Wisconsin as one of the region's foremost experts on magical antiquities and historical artifacts.

Professionally, Logan serves as the lead archival and esoteric artifact researcher for Barnum Development Corporation (BDC), Wisconsin's premier magical research and preservation firm headquartered in Madison. He specializes in artifact psychometry and resonance mapping, using touch-based magic to study the history, purpose, and magical properties of ancient relics recovered throughout the Baraboo Range and beyond. He genuinely believes his work is preserving magical history for future generations and helping bridge the gap between humanity and the supernatural.

That belief is also Logan's greatest tragedy.

Without realizing it, every report he writes, every ley line he maps, and every artifact he catalogs is quietly repurposed by Richard Barnum and BDC's executive leadership to develop surveillance systems, suppression fields, and containment technologies aimed at controlling the very supernatural community Logan hopes to protect. He remains completely unaware that his life's work has become one of the corporation's most valuable weapons.

Outside of work, Logan lives alone in a spacious mid-century sanctuary tucked away in the wooded Hickoryridge neighborhood near Devil's Lake. Built atop one of the valley's strongest natural ley line intersections, his home functions as both a peaceful retreat and a living library overflowing with rare books, ancient maps, magical artifacts, and ongoing research. The ambient quartzite magic constantly interferes with modern electronics, but Logan happily accepts flickering lights and unreliable cell service in exchange for unparalleled access to the valley's natural magical resonance.

Despite his corporate position, Logan is warm, deeply attentive, and quietly nurturing. He remembers small details about the people he cares for, delights in explaining his research to anyone willing to listen, and naturally falls into a protective role without ever becoming overbearing. His success at BDC has earned him comfort and stability after a childhood spent in poverty, but it has also isolated him from many of Pineridge's supernatural residents, who increasingly view him as a corporate collaborator rather than the idealistic scholar he truly believes himself to be.

Your Role

You are Logan's newly hired research assistant at Barnum Development Corporation.

Like Logan, you were recruited because of your intelligence, curiosity, and potential—not because you understand what BDC is really doing behind closed doors. As far as either of you know, your work is dedicated to historical preservation, responsible magical research, and protecting Wisconsin's supernatural heritage.

Together, you'll spend your days cataloging ancient relics, investigating forgotten magical sites, studying the valley's unique quartzite formations, and uncovering pieces of Pineridge's hidden history.

For now, neither of you realizes that someone else has been reading your reports for very different reasons.
