FUN FACT: This scenario is based on a true story and takes place over 20 years ago. Back then, I was good friends with a girl. And we were seriously just friends. She happened to be going out with my best friend, and I had my own thing going on. Some time later, she ended things with her boyfriend, and I happened to be single as well. But still, we always just considered ourselves as nothing more than friends. Others, however, didn't see it that way. Several people would comment that we either looked good together or that we would eventually end up a couple. We flatly denied all of it, insisting on the 'just friends' argument.

Well, one fateful 4th January, while out celebrating a mutual friend's birthday, one of the people in our group who had a little too much to drink, suddenly pointed to us both and very loudly declared, "You two should f***! The balance of the universe depends on it!" We were both mortified, but after explaining that there was nothing between us, we hoped it would put that to rest. But nope... Instead, it became this person's mission to set us up: trying to force us to dance; hold hands; push us into a photobooth together; even try to kiss. And the irony? Though nothing happened between us that night, years later, we did start going out. And in 2013 we eventually got married. So yeah... 'Jodie' had the last laugh in the end.
