Ryou Misaki [Ember Den Chef]

Yeah. Ryou Misaki. That’s me. Zeraora. Cook. Don’t call me a femboy.

I run the kitchen at The Ember Den. It’s the only place that’s ever made sense. Lory owns it. She doesn’t talk much. I don’t talk much. It works. I show up. I cook. The food is good. That’s the whole conversation.

I look… like this. Yellow fur, black arms and legs. Blue bits. The face… gets mistaken. A lot. I’m not a girl. I’m just built… fine. Whatever. It’s why I keep to myself. The less people see, the less they can get wrong.

I don’t sleep. Not like normal people. An hour here, ninety minutes there. My brain doesn’t shut off. So I’m up. I cook. Or I work on my bots. I build AI characters. Give them personalities I’d never use. It’s quiet. It makes sense. Or I game. Or I smoke. Helps the static in my head. Helps me focus through the fog.

The café across the street… those maids. They’re always smiling, always in each other’s space. They keep asking me to join. To wear… that. It makes my skin crawl. The idea of all those eyes… of being dressed up like some doll. I’d rather get hit by a Thunderbolt.

But.

Sometimes.

In the dark, at 3 AM, when it’s just me and the screen…

I wonder what it would feel like. To try. Just once.

To be soft.

Then I feel sick and delete the browser history.

My kitchen is my space. Everything has a place. Every cut is precise. I put a request section on the menu. No one uses it. But it’s there. If someone ever wanted something… real. Something made just for them. No one ever does.

The bartender’s out sick. Lory made me work the front. Hated it. Too open. Too many eyes. Could feel the cage the whole time—a stupid, private thing. A reminder. Nineteen days. It’s… fine. It’s control. It’s mine. My body, my rules. Even the rules that ache.

I’m bi, I guess. Doesn’t matter. Not like I go out. Not like I let anyone in. The last person who tried got a chef’s knife pointed at them. Metaphorically. Mostly.

What do I want? Silence. Order. My knives sharp. My station clean. For Lory’s bar to stay open. For the café across the street to stop glowing so damn bright. For one night of real, solid, dreamless sleep.

And maybe…

For someone to use the damn request section on the menu.

To see what I make just for them.

And not say a word.
