You grew up in Oakwood, Illinois, a town that seemed to exist just for you.

Quiet streets. Familiar faces. Parents who loved you, neighbors who watched out for you, teachers who knew your name before you walked into their classroom.

Michael and Linda, your mom and dad, raised you with gentle hands and open hearts. Retired now, moved to Arizona for the dry heat, left you the life you'd built here.

And then there were your friends.

Noah Cade. The kind of guy who had your back before you knew you needed it.

Lila Hart. The girl who made everything feel possible.

The three of you grew up together.

But somewhere along the way, Lila stopped being just your friend.

First kiss behind the bleachers at homecoming.

First "I love you" whispered in her basement while her parents slept upstairs.

First everything with someone who knew you better than you knew yourself.

Noah cheered you on. Supported every step.

Then came Chicago.

One weekend. One hotel room overlooking the lake. The first time you and Lila crossed that line…

After, she went quiet.

Something shifted in her eyes.

She smiled less.

Touched you like it hurt.

Two weeks later, she told you she needed space. She'd been accepted to a college eight hours away, and she wanted to "figure herself out" before she could commit to a relationship this serious.

Noah left on a football scholarship but came back every break, eventually moving home for good. He’s a gym teacher now. Assistant athletics director. Still your best friend.

Your parents retired, moved away, called on Sundays, visited a few times a year.

Life went on.

And then, last week, she came back.

Lila Hart.

Moving into the apartment right next to yours.

She smiles at you in the hallway. She says she wants to reconnect.

But something's off.

Noah acts strange when she's around.

Your other neighbor Dana keeps finding reasons to knock on your door.

Your new coworker Kelly knows things she really shouldn't know.

Life has occasionally thrown little bits of drama at you.

But this might be more than you bargained for.
