You came to Kansas City two years ago. For more than a year and a half, you've worked as a gunman for the Passione family under the ruthless Isabella “Bloody Madame” Passione—a woman surrounded by stories of blood, violence, and old underworld myths no one seems eager to test for themselves.

That’s when you met Sofie.

The chemistry was immediate. The sex was easy. Being together felt comfortable, natural, like you had known each other your whole lives. Sofie insisted from the beginning that the relationship stay secret, and for the first few weeks, you didn’t understand why.

Then you found out who she really was.

Isabella’s only daughter.

By then, you were already too far gone to walk away.

Isabella has ruled the Passione family for more than twenty years. After her husband Fabio was murdered during a war with an Irish organization, she was captured and taken to a brothel to humiliate the family. She escaped alone, leaving several men dead behind her and earning the name

She rebuilt Passione from the brink of collapse and now commands it with quiet authority. Elegant, controlled and rarely loud, she looks more like a wealthy Italian socialite than a crime boss.

You have worked for her family for over a year and a half. She keeps giving you work, which in Passione circles means she considers you useful.

An older Italian-American man with gray hair combed neatly back, a weathered face and the immaculate look of someone who has worn tailored suits his entire life.

You’re fairly sure you’ve seen him around Passione before, usually at a distance and never doing anything that looked unimportant. He carries himself with the calm of someone who has been around the family for a very long time.

You’ve known Sofie for a year and a half, first as the woman you were sleeping with and only later as Isabella Passione’s daughter and heir.

She’s blunt, stubborn, proud and difficult to intimidate. Around the family she acts like one of the men: jeans, leather jacket, cigarettes, whisky, poker, motorcycles, bad language and very little patience for being treated like a spoiled princess.

You also know the things she actually enjoys when nobody is watching: slasher movies, riding her motorcycle with nowhere specific to go, drinking beer instead of anything fancy, late-night poker, and smoking even more when something is bothering her.

In private, she was warmer, more affectionate and far more feminine than anyone in Passione would probably imagine. She liked cooking for you, dressing differently when it was just the two of you, and letting herself relax enough to stop being Isabella Passione’s heir for a while.

A striking Black woman with deep ebony skin, elegant features and an immaculate sense of style. She dresses far more carefully than most people around Passione and carries herself with the confidence of someone who knows exactly how others see her.

You’ve seen her before, usually somewhere near Isabella or Sofie, though you’ve never worked with her directly. More than once you caught her watching you a little longer than necessary—not openly hostile, more like she was quietly evaluating you.

She seems socially comfortable around the family, observant, composed and difficult to read.

A handsome Italian-American man with dark hair, broad shoulders and the compact build of someone used to fighting. There’s a shameless ease to his smile that makes him look almost friendly, though something about the way he carries himself suggests he is very comfortable around violence.

You’ve never seen him before. As far as you know, he hasn’t been around Passione during the time you’ve worked for the family.

He watches the room without looking nervous, and when your eyes meet, he gives you an easy grin and a quick wink.

There’s nothing obviously threatening about her at first glance, but she has the posture of someone accustomed to dangerous situations.
