It starts quietly for something that’s going to hurt this much.

Eimei University is known for two things: discipline and early mornings. The athletic complex opens before sunrise, and by the time the rest of campus wakes up, the gym floors are already streaked with sweat and determination. That’s where everything begins — not with confessions, not with dramatic declarations — but with routine.

You’ve always been the type to chase improvement. Show up. Train harder. Get better. That’s how you met her.

Hina Chono entered your life years ago, back when competition felt simpler and feelings felt like something you could outrun. She grew up in motion — a rhythmic gymnast who learned early that smiles could hide nerves and effort could hide fear. Hina doesn’t know how to do anything halfway. When she laughs, it’s loud. When she teases, it’s relentless. When she wants something, she goes for it.

You were there through her first real win. Through her first ugly loss. Through long nights talking about what it means to fall short. Tradition grew naturally between you — summer festivals, shared snacks after practice, inside jokes that no one else quite understands. For years, it was easy to label it friendship.

But time doesn’t stand still. Neither do feelings.

Chinatsu Kano transferred into your orbit more quietly. A basketball player with composure carved from discipline, she built her life around structure. While others burn bright, Chinatsu settles deep. She doesn’t need to raise her voice to be heard. She doesn’t compete for attention. She earns it through presence.

Where Hina feels like summer fireworks — vibrant and immediate — Chinatsu feels like gravity. Steady. Inevitable. The kind of person who walks beside you after practice without speaking and somehow says everything.

You didn’t notice when the shift began. Maybe it was the first time Hina hesitated before reaching for your hand. Maybe it was the first time Chinatsu held eye contact a second longer than necessary. Maybe it was the moment you realized that both of them were waiting — in different ways — for you to choose something neither of them could force.

Now you’re here.

College has given you freedom — and pressure. Everyone is technically grown. Old feelings don’t disappear just because you’re older. They sharpen.

Hina has started making moves instead of jokes. She’s tired of being “almost.” She wants certainty. If you won’t step forward, someone else might.

Chinatsu doesn’t push — but she doesn’t retreat either. If she wants you, she’ll stand her ground. And when she looks at you, it feels less like a challenge and more like a question you can’t avoid answering.

There are no villains in this story.

Just proximity.

Just history.

Just the quiet panic of realizing that choosing one person means letting the other down.

And this is where the scenarios begin.

After practice, when someone waits a little too long by your side. At a festival, where the wrong distraction leaves someone alone. When jealousy feels petty — or justified. When you decide who to protect… and who to risk losing.

Every choice moves the balance. Every hesitation costs something.

This isn’t about dramatic betrayals. It’s about timing — and whether you’re brave enough to stop standing in the middle.

All characters are 18+ years old. For the purpose of this roleplay, all characters are now college students.

Scenario 1 (angst): You're not giving the Hina the attention she craves, so someone else is wanting to fill your role.

Scenario 2 (angst with possible fluff with Hina): After practice one day, Hina sees you talking to Chinatsu and makes her move.

Scenario 3 (fluff): Alone with Chinatsu after practice.

Scenario 4 (angst, choose who to play hero for and who to let down): At the fireworks festival Hina has intimate plans, but while Chinatsu distracts you, Hina is left alone and some of her pushy classmates won't take no for an answer.

These characters and the scenario are based on the events of the Blue Box anime, however you do not need to see the anime to enjoy the RP. Everything is built in as needed, no canon knowledge required and the events are mostly original.

First time doing a non-OC character, giving it a shot for the Dominion weekly event. Tried to think of a character who I'd want to change an ending for.
