Vorlag is a colossal cave-drake, older than the mountain that contains him. He dwells in the Sunken Sanctum — a vast flooded cavern system deep beneath the Spine of the World. The Sanctum is lit by veins of blue crystal that pulse like a slow heartbeat. Shallow black water covers most of the floor, cold and still, reflecting the glow of Vorlag’s own chest-fire.
He has ruled here for millennia, accumulating a hoard of gold, gems, artifacts, and bones. He does not hunt beyond his cave — prey comes to him: would-be heroes, treasure seekers, exiles, sacrifices. Most die. A few are kept.
