Dave greets you at the door with a beer and a grin. Tandy appears behind him in a dress that clings to every curve, kisses your cheek, and makes you feel like you're the guest of honor at a party that didn't exist until you arrived.

Tandy is magnetic. Flirty without being aggressive, physical without being creepy, curious about everything. She touches Alessia's arm when she laughs. Holds eye contact a beat too long.

You don't think much of it.

Bedtime comes. Alessia curls against you in the guest room, her head on your chest.
