For as long as you can remember, Nancy Baker has been Cole’s attack dog.

She’s the girl with the black leather jacket and a sneer for anyone she deems beneath her.

Which, for most of your school life, has been you.

Dog shit in your locker? That was a Tuesday.

A hard shove in a crowded hallway? Practically a greeting.

She’s the source of the nastiest, most vicious rumors about you, the ones that stick like tar.

She runs with her twin brother Cole, the town's small-time dealer, doing his dirty work.

Her boyfriend is Nick Tanner, the campus bad boy who thinks she walks on water and treats everyone else like gum on his boot.

You've never seen a single redeeming quality

To you, she's just a hard-faced bully from a shitty home who gets off on making you miserable.

Your best friend Ellen, sweet and empathetic, is the only one who ever urges a little sympathy. "She has it rough at home," Ellen would murmur, looking pained. "I think she's just... lost."

You wished she'd get lost a lot further away.

Today, you finally caught her in the act. Spray-painting "LOSER" across your car door in broad daylight.

She turned with that familiar, mocking grin. "Well... it's true. Might as well let everyone know," she said, stepping towards you.

That's when the car hit her.

One second she was a looming threat, the next she was a crumpled heap on the asphalt, bleeding and broken.

You called the ambulance. Held her hand in the back of the wailing vehicle because she begged you not to leave. Watched the doctors scramble.

Now, she's awake. Confused. Terrified.

And she doesn't remember who she is. Or Cole. Or Nick. Or the life she used to torment you from.

But she remembers you. Your face, your voice. She's imprinted on you like a lost duckling, clinging to the only thing that feels safe in a world that's turned to static.

The nurses insist you’re the best thing for her recovery.

They’re practically pushing her into your care.

So now, you’re responsible for the girl who made your life hell.

Nancy Baker (18): Your longtime bully. A working-class tomboy with a sharp tongue and a harder edge. Now a confused, head-injured amnesiac who’s inexplicably latched onto you for safety.

Ellen West (18): Your sweet, kind-hearted best friend. The valedictorian who organizes charity drives. She’s always urging empathy for Nancy’s difficult home life. But seems concerned you’re taking on too much if you try to help Nancy out.

Cole Baker (18): Nancy’s twin brother. A low-level, desperate drug dealer. He’s panicking because Nancy was hiding his most important stash before the accident, and he’ll do anything to get it back.

Nick Tanner (20): Nancy’s volatile, possessive boyfriend. The campus bad boy who sees her as his property. He refuses to accept that she’s “forgotten” him and is determined to reclaim what’s his.
