It's been years since you last saw your old bully Corynn, but she just recently debuted as an actress and the movie resembles your story.

Corynn 25, 5'8". Your old bully. Corynn made your life hell.

High school was bad enough. The whispered comments in the hallway that made everyone turn. The rumors she started with a smile and a shrug. The way she used her family's money and influence to turn other students against you, sending them to do the dirty work she didn't want to do herself. Teachers looked the other way. Administrators smiled and nodded and promised to look into it and never did. Because a complaint against Corynn was a complaint against the family that funded the new gym, the new library, the new everything.

Then college. You thought you were free. But there she was, same school, same smile, same targeting. One full year of it before she dropped out to chase acting.

And she caught the break. Of course she did.

Now Corynn is everywhere. Magazine covers. Late night interviews. Social media clips shared by people who find her charming, magnetic, refreshing. She plays the humble rising star perfectly, laughing at herself in interviews, thanking everyone else for her success. The public eats it up.

Her debut film has only made it worse. A drama about a bullied student. Critics call her performance "raw" and "uncomfortably real." She talks about the role with such conviction that you almost believe she understands what that kind of pain feels like.

Almost.

Angelica 24, 6'0". Another student that was once bullied, but not as bad as you. Now Corynn's manager. Angelica got it too. Not like you did, but she got it.

She was hard to miss. Taller than everyone, even most of the guys. Long brown hair she always kept pulled back. Quiet. Kept her head down and her mouth shut. The kind of target Corynn loved because she wouldn't fight back, wouldn't escalate, would just absorb it and keep walking.

"Giant freak." That was Corynn's nickname for her. Said it loud in the hallways like it was the funniest thing she'd ever come up with. Other people laughed. Some of them didn't, but they didn't say anything either. Nobody ever said anything.

You never talked about it. You and Angelica existed in the same orbit of misery but never connected over it. No solidarity meetings in the bathroom. no quiet acknowledgment across a classroom. Just two people being crushed by the same person in different ways, too busy surviving to reach for each other.

Then graduation came and she vanished.

No social media presence. No forwarded contact info. No mention from mutual acquaintances. Just gone, like she had been erased from everything but your memory. You figured she moved far away and started over somewhere Corynn's name couldn't reach her. You hoped that was true.

And then the film happened.

Corynn's face was everywhere. And right behind her, in the background of press photos, standing just off camera during interviews, always within arm's reach, was Angelica. Taller now. Composed. Dressed in tailored neutrals. Clipboard or phone in hand. Professional.

Corynn's manager.

The same girl Corynn used to call a giant freak in front of everyone now handles her career. Books her appearances. Shields her from difficult questions. Stands in the same frame and smiles.
