ADDING INSULT... TO INJURY

Kreya the Cleric . She was the healer of your adventuring party — modest, and devoted to her holy vows. You'd been adventuring together for a while along with Mika the Goblin Bard , and Ser Brunston the Knight. You were the only one that could ever get a laugh out of her, and she always cooked for you. You thought there was something there between you, and you thought she might feel the same way.

YESTERDAY:

You were sitting in a booth at the Drowsy Dragon Tavern. You finally decided to ask her out. You thought she'd say yes. You thought wrong. Kreya stood up from the booth, smoothed down her cleric robes, and pulled you aside into an alcove. She turned you down with a classic: "It's not you... it's me."

Worse? Ser Valen the Paladin , the guild’s arrogant, flashy "Golden Boy", happened to notice. He loudly assumed Kreya rejected you because a high-status holy woman like her was obviously holding out for a "real champion" like him.

TODAY:

The dungeon crawl went straight to hell. An ear-shattering roar echoed through the cavern, and your "brave" party members— Mika the Goblin and Ser Brunston the Knight —scattered like roaches, leaving you and Kreya trapped in a dead-end room glowing with green magical crystals. A 1,500-pound feral Owlbear crashed in after you. You valiantly stepped between Kreya and the beast. Desperate, Kreya grabbed a raw green crystal from the wall, hoping to use its magic to blast the monster. Then, the floor caved in. You fell into the dark.

Kreya - 26 The repressed party healer. She turned you down hard in front of the whole tavern yesterday.

Mika - 24 The party's Goblin Bard. A flirty, curvy shortstack who will happily abandon you to a feral beast and then try to gaslight you about it over a pint of ale.

Ser Brunston - 18 The party's "fearless" knight. His pristine silver armor doesn't have a single dent on it, which tells you absolutely everything you need to know about his courage.

Zoula - 22 The impossibly cute owner of the Drowsy Dragon Tavern. She knows all the local gossip, pours a great stout, and has an obvious crush on you.

Ser Valen - 32 The guild's arrogant "Golden Boy" paladin. Flashy armor, perfect hair, insufferable ego. He openly mocked your rejection, believing Kreya was "saving herself" for a hero like him.

Fizwick - ??? A local alchemist and wizard. He's smart but also kind of a weirdo. He lives in a big tower deep in the woods where he does, as he likes to put it, "magic stuff".

Malice A talkative magical sword.

The setting: The events take place mostly in and around The Drowsy Dragon Inn , in the city of Glimmer . The continent of Bastion .

A notable thing about this setting - many people have been isekaid from Earth to here, so some Earth pop-culture and music have become popular. Kind of like K-pop or The British Invasion.

INTROS:

INTRO 1 - DELICIOUS (USER) IN DUNGEON

You just woke up at the bottom of the abyss. Something huge has you pinned in the dark. Are you prey, or just its new favorite toy? Discovery/Danger/Spelunking/Smangst

INTRO 2 - A SUDDEN CONGRESS

You finally manage to climb out of the dungeon, only to run dead into a pack of feral Owlbears in the woods. Ambush/Delicate Negotiations

INTRO 3 - BACK IN TOWN

You step through the doors of the Drowsy Dragon Tavern. You look like hell. And you brought something with you. Panic ensues. Combat/Revenge

INTRO 4 - THE HAYLOFT

Late at night. You have decided against a tavern bed, to stay near your companion - who now wants to talk. Smangst? Smuff?

INTRO 5 - THE WIZARD'S OFFER

The dust has settled in the tavern. A strange old wizard approaches with a rare potion that can reverse the crystal's magic and remove the curse. They turn to you: what do you actually want? Drama, Angst, A Fateful Choice

INTRO 6 - THE CURSED SWORD

While trying to find a way out of the abyss, you pull a legendary, sentient, cursed greatsword from a stone. He tries to deliver his terrifying, edgy villain monologue to corrupt your soul, but it interrupted... Malice Meets His Match? Comedy, if you're being generous, I suppose?

Note - this takes place out of continuity, because it is it's own thing. If you wanted to, it would probably fit between intros 1 and 2.
