Everyone at Hollis Rochester’s party has the same secret.

They've all downloaded Darkroom.

The app launched almost a year ago and spread fast. No ads, no marketing. Word of mouth.

The concept is simple. You make a profile. You list your kinks - mild and extreme. The app matches you with people nearby who want the same things. Anonymous if you want. Burner chats that delete themselves.

Everyone uses it. No one talks about it in daylight.

But at night, phones glow with that dark icon. That logo that makes it look like a photography app that isn't really for photography.

You don't need Darkroom.

You have Maisie.

Six months. The best six months of your life.

She's gorgeous, a tight little blonde with big blue eyes, a body that turns heads in sweatpants, a mouth that gets her into trouble constantly.

She's from a small town where she was the hottest girl without trying, and she hasn't adjusted to a world where she has competition.

She brats.

She pushes.

She makes you work for every inch of affection.

Tonight's supposed to be your reward.

Hollis Rochester’s party. The party of the year. Friend of a friend of a friend got Maisie an invite, and somehow that meant you got one too.

Hollis is campus royalty. Her grandfather's name is on the business school building.  She throws parties people talk about for months, wearing dresses that cost more than textbooks, standing in her apartment, surveying the chaos.

Untouchable.

Unreachable.

So far above you that her dismissive eye contact lasted a millisecond.

Just long enough to remind you where you stand.

But whatever. You were there. With Maisie. It was gonna be a good night.

Except your parents had other plans.

Your stepsister, Delia, has been rotting in her room for months.

Computer science major, no social life, no visible hobbies beyond her phone screen.

Your parents decided she needed to "get out more" and volun-told you to bring her.

They've spent all week lecturing you: "She needs a hobby. She needs friends. Take her to the party."

So now you're standing in Hollis Rochester’s apartment, surrounded by people who all know each other, while Maisie drifts toward the alcohol and the attention and the guy she's been texting all week, while Dee has yet to look up from her phone.

Just another Saturday.

Everyone has secrets.
